Find the perfect plan for your needs
When it comes to choosing an internet plan, it’s sometimes hard to know exactly what you need. Watch our short video to help you understand which broadband plan will best suit you.
What is the best Origin Broadband plan for you?
Meet Shelley – As long as she can pay her bills and Skype her family do a bit of web browsing she’s happy.
Not like Sean, over here – Internet access is his lifeline! From being on all the social media platforms like Facebook, to streaming shows to listening to music on wireless broadband,to making sure he is up to date on his favourite podcasts. He would be lost without fast reliable internet.
Susie also doesn’t know what her family would do without the internet! Between keeping the kids entertained with streaming services (like Netflix or YouTube) and online games whilst she and her husband work on their computers – her family always has multiple devices running at the same time on her home wireless network.
Well luckily for Susie… and Sean and Shelley Origin’s vast range of broadband options means that no matter how you use the internet, we’ve got the broadband plan to suit you!
For those of us like Shelley who only use the internet for browsing and checking emails our Basic 25 plan is the perfect fit!
Sean would love our Experience nbnTM 50 – a great option for households who love to stream movies, music, videos, gaming and downloads.
And Susie’s family could definitely benefit from our Enthusiast nbnTM 100 – which is ideal for large households and heavy internet users who regularly upload or download large files or creating a lot of internet traffic. It’s also the most suitable plan for those who enjoy 4k streaming.
Like the sound of these plans?
At Origin we like to make things easy for you to have a connected home.
We can even bundle ALL your services together so you can get the best value.
What are Mbps and how many do I need?
Internet plan speeds are measured in Mbps. But what are Mbps? And how many do you need to help choose the right nbnTM or fibre plan? Find out here.
What are Mbps and how many do I need?
Shopping around for internet?
You’ve probably noticed that plan speeds are measured in Mbps. But what are Mbps? And how many do you need?
Mbps stands for megabits per second.
A bit is a tiny piece of data, and a megabit is many many tiny pieces of data.
Not to be confused with Megabytes – megabits are what is used to measure your download speed.
The higher the number of megabits, the faster your internet traffic will be.
So how many mbps do you need?
Checking emails and browsing the internet usually uses only a small amount of data.
A little more data is needed for apps like Facetime or Skype .
If you stream tv shows, download big movie files or watch live sport you’ll be using a whole lot more data.
And if everyone in the house is internet streaming, gaming and everything in between – you’re going to need more Mbps to keep everyone connected at the same time.
So… how much? Well, that depends on you.
Our Experience nbntm 50 plan is great for families and households with 2 or more people streaming movies, music, video, gaming and heavy downloads at the same time.
