New energy account for electricity and natural gas meter installations

In some states, you'll also need to contact your distributor when requesting a new electricty meter. If you aren't sure who your distributor is, you can find out on our distributors page.

Altering an electricity or natural gas meter, including adding solar

Electricity alterations (including for solar)

VIC - Electrical Works Request Form (PDF 162 kB)

For solar alterations in Vic, you'll also need a Photovoltaic Solar Generator Connection Agreement form (see below).

SA - Application to change an electricity supply form (PDF 164 kB)

QLD - You'll have to submit form 2 via the Energex portal

NSW - Application to change an electricity supply form (PDF 162 kB)

ACT - Application to change an electricity supply form (PDF 602 kB)

Natural gas alterations

All states - For all alterations to natural gas meters, you'll have to give us a call on 13 29 73 OPTION 5 when  you have the load details.

In Vic, you'll also need a Photovoltaic Solar Generator Connection Agreement from your specific distributor when altering a meter for solar. If you aren't sure who your distributer is, you can find out on our distributors page.

Long-term natural gas disconnections

All states - For all disconnections for your gas, you'll have to give us a call on 1300 132 480 so we can arrange a diconnection with your distributor.
