Frequently asked questions – Origin Connect and connection assistance

When will I be moved to Origin Connect?

All existing building customers have been moved to Origin Connect. Existing building customers have been sent an email about their move to Origin Connect. There’s no need to register, all you need to do is follow the simple steps to log in.

How do I log in to Origin Connect?

If you were previously using Connect Assist, you will have been sent an email with information about logging in. There’s no need to register, all you need to do is follow the simple steps to log in.

What has been transferred to Origin Connect?

All open connection records have been transferred from Connect Assist to Origin Connect. This includes company details, relationships and information you need to get up and running on the new portal.

You’ll need to enter any contacts related to your company when submitting a request in Origin Connect.  After you’ve done this for the first time, Origin Connect automatically saves them for you to select for future requests.

I’m linked to a builder’s request. What happens to me?

If you’re an electrician, plumber or site manager who was associated with a builder’s account in Connect Assist, you’ll have been moved to Origin Connect at the same time the builder was. 

After the move, your details will be in Origin Connect for that builder and you’ll start using Origin Connect.

What kind of support is available?

If you’re still using Connect Assist, log in at origin.connectassist.com.au and follow your usual process for managing your elecricity and natural gas connections.

What if I want to manage my jobs offline?

Yep, Origin Connect is totally free to register for and use. When you lodge requests, different distrubutor fees apply depending on what state you’re in and what type of request it is. Find out more about fees, charges and energy prices below.

Is Origin Connect free to use and where can I find your fees and charges?

We recommend you use Origin Connect. to assist you with getting your jobs done, but if you want to fill in the forms and submit requests manually, you’ll find everything you need below.

I’m not registered for Origin Connect. Can I still submit my forms offline?

If you don’t want to use Origin Connect, you can still submit your new connection or meter alteration requests offline.
