A delicious and simple (cheat) dumpling recipe that the whole family can enjoy.
20 Gow Gee wrappers
For the filling
300g of pork mince
1 cup of finely chopped cabbage
Handful of chives, chopped
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
- Combine your filling ingredients in a large bowl.
- Grab your Gow Gee wrappers and wet the outer edges with water. The Gow Gee will create a sticky shell for your meaty filling.
- Place a teaspoon of the mince mixture in the centre of the wrapper and fold in half, pressing on the edges to seal. Tip: You can also use a fork to seal the wrappers.
- Steam your dumplings in a steamer for 15 minutes or until cooked.
Soy sauce, sweet chili or ginger and vinegar.
Note: If you’re not a fan of rolling out your own dumpling dough, you can stock up on dumpling wrappers from an Asian grocer or local supermarket. We used Gow Gee wrappers for ours. Quick tip – these wrappers are so versatile, you can get as creative as you like with them and even use them for pasta dishes like ravioli!
By no means should you stick to the recipe! We encourage you to get as creative as you like. You might want to mix it up by adding an egg, ginger or any other ingredients you think might work – we’ll leave that up to your imagination!
