3. Your privacy

You consent to Origin’s collection, use, holding and disclosure of your personal and credit related information in accordance with our privacy and credit reporting statements, available at originenergy.com.au/privacy.

Our credit reporting statement explains who we disclose credit information to (including service providers overseas) and how this could affect your creditworthiness, as well as how you can access, correct or complain about it. Please contact us to request a paper copy

Product and service offers

From time to time we’ll let you know about our great products and offers, even after your agreement ends. But if you don’t want us to, just tick the box below.

I nominate Origin as the energy retailer for electricity and/or natural gas or LPG at my property.

I understand that:

  • Once my account’s been set up:
    • For electricity or natural gas: Origin will supply energy on a standing agreement, or if my connection is for natural gas in New South Wales on the Australian Gas Networks or Central Ranges distribution networks, a regulated agreement, and send through all the details, including prices.
  • Clear and safe access must be available at the property for connection of natural gas and electricity. If work cannot be completed due to access restrictions or other issues, an additional fee could apply.
  • Origin may communicate with my builder, and their associated contractors in relation to the progress of my account, until my connection is complete and if applicable, the meters installed.
  • A connection fee may apply, as set out below.

For electricity connections:

Origin does not currently charge fees for a meter installation in NSW. However, if that has changed by the time we receive your completed form we’ll contact you to let you know the fees that apply. You can find out more details about the current fees at originenergy.com.au/meterfees. Your local network provider will pass on any distribution fees to you directly.

For natural gas connections:

If a fee applies, this will be quoted to us by your distributor and we’ll let you know before the work goes ahead.

Energy charges

You can find our energy charges at originenergy.com.au/pricing. The charges that will apply to you will depend on your metering set up and distributor and won’t be confirmed until after your connection is complete. We will set you up on the most common rate type for your area and let you know if this is not the rate type that applies to you once your connection is complete.

 

Terms and conditions

What it means

When you click agree and submit, you agree :

  • To enter into an agreement with Origin for each fuel and supply address on the above Terms and Conditions set out above.
  • That Origin might vary the Terms and Conditions and also the nature,amount and structure of your charges by notice (unless you have selected Predictable Plan or the Rate Freeze Energy plan in which case Origin cannot vary the usage and the supply charges for the duration of the energy plan), and 
  • That Origin may verify your details with the distributor and if some of the details are incorrect, (e.g. meter type), we can change the Charges by notice.

This confirmation and acceptance must be submitted by the primary account holder.
