New solar customers
Feed-in Tariff Scheme
The Essential Services Commission will set the minimum electricity feed-in tariff (FIT) (currently 6.2c/kWh) to 5c/kWh on 1 January 2016. And Origin will offer eligible customers 5c/kWh from this date.
The FIT rate is based on the wholesale cost of electricity, and is reviewed each year by the Essential Services Commission (ESC). The 5c/kWh will apply from 1 January 2016 until 31 December 2016.
All amounts are GST-inclusive (if any).
To see if you’re eligible or to apply for the scheme
Eligibility for this scheme applies to solar and other eligible forms of renewable energy systems with a size under 100 kW that were connected to the grid from 1 January 2013.
To apply, you can read our FIT agreement and complete the schedule online. Alternatively, you can print and return the completed and signed last page of the agreement to:

Once these steps are complete, we’ll apply the FIT to your electricity account for so long as you continue to meet the scheme requirements. Currently this FIT is 6.2c/kWh. From 1 January 2016 this FIT will be 5c/kWh and apply until 31 December 2016.
