Monday Motivation - The Nanjing Vertical Forest

20 February 2017

This vertical forest is helping clean up China.

For this week’s Monday Motivation, we wanted to show you a jungle of the vertical kind.

Now, we have openly shared our love affair with our own green wall which resides in our Melbourne office but, we have to say, this vertical green monster really does make ours look like a veggie patch.

The Nanjing Vertical Forest will be the first vertical forest built in Asia and will house 600 tall trees, 500 medium-sized trees (for a total amount of 1,100 trees from 23 local species) and 2,500 cascading plants and shrubs will cover a 6,000 Sqm area.

The project – expected to be completed by 2018 – is expected to provide a CO2 absorption of 25 tonnes each year and produce around 60kg of oxygen per day.
