Throw a surprise (…ingly environmentally-friendly) party.
There are plenty of ways to cut down on the environmental impact of your party, and the great thing is it isn’t even hard. In fact, environmentally zhuzhing up your party is easier than spelling the word ‘zhuzhing’.
Here are a few things you can do:
- Invest in decor that’s solar friendly. Festoon lights, fairy lights, lanterns and even water features – these all come in solar powered options. Stop looking for a powerpoint and choose the environmentally friendly option.
- Leave out the balloons. They’re fun for a while, until they end up in either landfill or our waterways. Instead, opt for recyclable decorations, such as tissue paper pom poms, fabric bunting or crepe paper tassels.
- Take things a step further. Got a big life event? How about scattering flower petals, planting a tree or spreading wildflower seed bombs – they’re beautiful to look at and also help feed our native bees.
Think of it as throwing a party not just for your friend, but for the environment, who also loves parties.
