Big energy. Lowering emissions.
Origin Energy is working towards a net zero emissions future. One of the ways we’re doing this is by reducing the emissions of gas – which plays a crucial supporting role in transitioning from more emission-intensive sources of energy to a renewable generation.
Here’s our plan:
- Reduce – we’re aiming to lower our carbon emissions by exploring more sustainable operating practices.
- Remove – we’ll continue to explore carbon capture and storage (CCS) and other carbon negative technologies, to help make them work on a technical and commercial basis.
- Reimagine – we’re helping reimagine energy products. One of these products is hydrogen. This year, we’ll complete a feasibility study for a >500MW green ammonia plant in Tasmania’s Bell Bay that will export more than 420ktpa of green ammonia.
