Eat yourself cool.
Air conditioners are a must for surviving Aussie summers, but they require a lot of power to run. So what if we told you there was a way to cool yourself down that doesn’t involve electricity consumption, but snack consumption?
During the next scorcher, don’t reach for the split-system remote – reach into your freezer and grab a refreshing frozen treat instead. Don’t think of it as eating ice cream – think of it as ‘internal air con’ for your body. Edible climate control!
It doesn’t have to be unhealthy either. The supermarket freezer section is full of low-sugar, low-fat ice-cream options. You can even buy icy-pole moulds and make DIY versions – there are plenty of healthy recipes to try online. Try frozen yogurt pops with fruit, or vegan coconut milk-based pops, or an easy frozen cordial pop.
With treats like these, you’ll be hankering for the next heat wave. Just beware of brain freeze…
