Fixed Price Electricity Plans

Origin’s Predictable Plan means that Australians can now pay a fixed amount for their electricity or natural gas each month for one year.

For the majority of Australians who feel anxious about receiving unexpected energy bills, a game changing new product from Origin is promising relief by allowing them to pay a fixed amount for their energy.1

“This is the first energy plan of its kind in Australia to address the concerns of customers who find it difficult to budget without knowing what their energy bill is going to be" says Jonathan Briskin, Origin’s GM Retail. 

No more bill surprises

"Predictable Plan removes any nasty bill surprises by allowing customers to lock in their energy costs for the entire year and pay the same amount monthly or fortnightly," says Briskin.

This fixed price will protect customers against any variations in energy prices during this time and against any variation in their own usage. Customers will pay a fixed amount for their electricity or natural gas each month for one year (but our Fair Use Policy applies if your usage is excessive or unreasonable).

The new option has been recognised by consumer survey group Canstar Blue as being a ''game-changer' in Australia.

A hassle-free way of paying for energy

Predictable Plan is available for either natural gas or electricity or both. The plan is personally tailored for every customer and is now available to new and existing Origin Customers with three months of historical usage at their current address. 

For Sally Urquhart from Hawthorn, who runs a business and has a young family, Predictable Plan is a simple, hassle-free way of paying for energy.

“I used to shop around to try and get the best energy deal, but there are so many discounts and incentives offered, it is hard to compare and know when you are getting a good deal.”

Currently only 13% of Australians find their energy bills predictable, but they find it much easier to predict their internet (50%) and phone bills (40%).2
