Apps to help you discover your new neighbourhood eats

Moving house takes a lot of time – settling into a new neighbourhood can take even longer.

It’s exciting discoveringyour new local coffee shop, favourite restaurant, or that quirky little grocer just around the corner, but it takes time. That’s why we’ve put together a list of our favourite apps to help you settle in quickly (and tantalise your taste buds).

1.      Zomato

Cooking is probably the last thing you’ll want to do after a long day of moving. You might want to use Zomato to help you find the best local nosh. The Zomato app not only allows you to search by area, you can also filter by cuisine, take-away, pubs,  bars, cafes, dinner, lunch and breakfast (plus more).  Our favourite feature? Zomato allows you to scroll through photos taken by other diners, making it easy to pick your dish based on what you like the look of.

2.      Good Food

The Good Food app works by mapping your location and showing you all of the food options available in your local area. This feature makes it perfect for when you’ve moved into a new neighbourhood. It provides you with reviews from some of Australia’s most respected restaurant critics and lets you book a table from the app.

3.      Tripadvisor

Moving interstate? If you’re a true foodie, you might want to find your new local restaurants before making the trip. Tripadvisor is not just great for finding food, you can look for anything from flights, to museum tickets and more, all in the one spot.

4.      Menulog

Menulog gives you thousands of restaurants to order from, displays customer ratings and allows you to order now or for later. All you need to do is enter your new postcode, add menu items to your order and enter your delivery address. You can also choose to pick up your order if the place is nearby.

5.      Uber Eats

If you’re loving being in your new space and don’t want to leave the couch, check out UberEats. The best thing about it? You can track how far away your food is on a map! UberEats focuses on delivering food from your local area and fast! It’s easy to use and can hook up to your existing Uber account.
