Origin will be making the switch to electric vehicles easier for local businesses with a new collaboration that will see Origin 360 EV host nine free Drive Day events in Sydney.

The Origin 360 EV Drive Days for fleets will provide businesses with an introduction to electric vehicles and an overview of the things they should consider when looking to transition their fleet, with industry experts offering educational and practical advice.

During the half day events, businesses will have the opportunity to test drive a range of EVs, meet with vehicle manufacturers and hear all about current and emerging fit-for-purpose EV models in Australia.

Origin’s collaboration with the NSW Government will help support the NSW Government’s EV Strategy to increase EV sales to 52% by 2030-31, making the majority of new car sales EVs by 2035, while working towards net-zero emissions by 2050.

“Businesses are eager to understand more about EVs, how they work and the benefits of making the switch to both emissions and fleet costs, so these drive days are designed to provide the information they need to take the next step,” said Chau Le, General Manager, Strategy and E-Mobility at Origin.

“We know from experience that transitioning to electric requires a unique range of skills spanning energy, sustainability and fleet management, and that businesses need to ensure EVs work for their organisation operationally, so we are on hand to support the journey.

“The electrification of transport will play an important role in reducing emissions across our economy, and it is something that every organisation with their own vehicle fleet can start to look into today.”

Since launching in March 2021 with the purpose of supporting business customers to transition to cleaner transport, Origin 360 EV for fleet has offered end-to-end EV fleet management services to a growing number of organisations including Bradken and Uniting Care Queensland.
