Statement on industry association memberships
Membership of industry associations is an important part of Origin’s stakeholder engagement and a valuable mechanism through which we advocate for sound policy outcomes on behalf of our customers, shareholders and the broader community.
Origin continually assesses the alignment of our own energy and climate policy positions with those of the industry associations of which we are members. The major industry associations we are members of are: the Business Council of Australia, Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, Australian Energy Council, the Queensland Resources Council, the Clean Energy Council and Gas Energy Australia.
Our current assessment is there is no material differences between the energy and climate policies of Origin and these industry associations.
We commit to improving disclosure of our membership of industry associations, including describing our processes for engagement and our contribution to policy advocacy, in our annual Sustainability Report.
