Response to media speculation about legal action initiated by a former employee
Origin notes recent media reports regarding legal action initiated by an ex-Origin employee, including allegations made about the Company’s governance and regulatory compliance processes.
The allegations were considered in a thorough and respectful way, and independently investigated at Origin’s instigation. Three separate investigations were conducted by external specialist consultancies, and each reported that the allegations were not substantiated.
On this basis, Origin denies the allegations, plans to vigorously defend them in court and is confident that there has been no breach of a compliance reporting obligation.
Origin encourages employees to report issues of serious concern immediately and acknowledges the important role of these processes in protecting everyone’s interests. Origin actively seeks to ensure that employees feel safe when escalating a concern to senior management or the Board.
Court proceedings have commenced in relation to this case, and Origin plans to file a defence in due course.
