Origin begins selling Tesla Powerwall batteries to Australians
Origin is in the box seat to become a leading provider of home battery solutions, with customers able to purchase the hotly anticipated Tesla Powerwall from the Company from today with installation expected to commence in February 2016.
Origin Chief Executive Officer Energy Markets, Frank Calabria said, “By offering rooftop solar with home batteries, Origin is able to provide households with greater control over their energy use than ever before.
“Customers can now also make their investment in solar work harder, as excess electricity produced during the day can be stored for use at a later time when the solar panels do not produce electricity.
“Origin is Australia’s leading energy retailer with more than 400,000 solar customers, and Tesla Energy has quickly established itself as a global leader in battery storage, so we are delighted to be collaborating on Origin’s first solar and battery offering,” Mr Calabria said.
