Dr Helen Nugent resigns as Director
After 14 years of distinguished service on the Origin Energy (Origin) Board, Dr Helen Nugent has notified the Company of her decision to step down in order to take up the Chair of Ausgrid.
Origin Chairman, Gordon Cairns, said “I would like to congratulate Helen on her appointment, which recognises her stature as one of the leading directors in corporate Australia. She has been a distinguished servant to the Company as a Director for the past 14 years, but particularly in her role as Chair of the Audit Committee and more recently as Chair of the Remuneration Committee.
“We will miss her enormous contribution to the Board, and I personally will miss her wisdom and friendship,” Mr Cairns said.
As part of a Board renewal process, Origin is advanced in a process to identify and appoint replacement directors, and expects to make an announcement in the foreseeable future.
Scott Perkins has agreed to become Chair of the Board’s Remuneration Committee, replacing Dr Nugent.
