Origin is making $20,000 in grants available to support community projects in the Gunning region, in the latest round of applications for the Company’s Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Investment Fund.

Up to $10,000 is available per project for community groups to undertake initiatives that support community safety, health and well being; environmental stewardship; and skills and education outcomes.

Origin Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Relations Advisor Lisa Glastonbury said "the Community Investment Fund provides financial assistance to local, not-forprofit community groups to support initiatives of importance to the community."

The Fund has provided many benefits to the communities surrounding Cullerin Range Wind Farm in the past, including:

  • assisting the Gunning PA&I Society to promote and showcase the Gunning district at the annual show, events, festivals and competitions, by refurbishing seating in the shearing pavilion and upgrading showground audio equipment;
  • keeping the local community connected and informed by assisting with printing of the ‘Lions Noticeboard’ fortnightly publication;
  • capturing Gunning’s history and allowing public access to this information by purchasing computer hardware, software and camera equipment.

"We encourage local groups in the Cullerin Range area to apply for initiatives that provide long term benefits to the community", said Lisa.

Applications for funding close on Monday 5 August 2013, and will be evaluated by the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Investment Committee, which comprises community members and an Origin representative.
