There are three main pricing structures for residential electricity customers, based on the meter type at your supply address. The following information will help determine which applies to you:
Single Rate Customer: This is the most common type of price used in Victoria. This form of pricing is a single rate 24 hours, seven days a week which may vary depending on your level of consumption. If you don't recognise one of the descriptions below, you are most likely on this type of pricing.
Time of use (standard): If your meter is capable of measuring off-peak consumption, you will receive two price rates applied to consumption at certain times of the day. Generally you will be charged a single rate during the daytime/evening and then an off peak rate during the night.
Two rate: If you have an electric hot water service, which reheats overnight on a special rate, you are most likely to be on this type of pricing. (Some customers know that they have an electric hot water service because they can hear it heating up at night.)
By selecting 'Unsure' we'll provide you with the prices applicable to single rate customers in your area. If you make a selection that is incorrect, and this results in us incorrectly calculating your energy product and/or green product charges, or determining availability on an Energy Plan at your supply address, then we may vary your charges to reflect the correct information and/or terminate your Energy Plan, in writing in accordance with the terms of your Agreement.
