Last week I returned from an overseas training course in Kuala Lumpur.

Each year graduates are given the opportunity to choose training courses tailored to the projects they are working on and to build core technical skills to assist them within their role.

After an incident occurred at one of our water treatment facilities last week, I was required to head out to site to conduct a Risk Based Investigation (RBI). I was informed the week prior via our HSE notification system. This meant I didn’t have a great deal of warning, but as an Engineer at Origin within the operating part of the business, we must be able to provide support 24/7 and trips like these are not uncommon. (Working out in the field is much cooler that being stuck in the office anyway!)

Now, I know its O-Week for UQ and although a part of me wants to be chilling out in the Great Court, I am however at work. So instead, I can give little insight into what I’m up to today...

So you’re entering your final year of Engineering and its time to sort out your resume and start applying for graduate positions! (Wow, hasn’t time flown from when you were that teenager straight out of high school.)
