How is Origin helping the AFL to make a difference to our environment?
In a ground breaking initiative, we formally joined forces with the AFL in 2007 to help the AFL be the first sporting league in the world to report zero greenhouse gas emissions. Our AFL Green program will play hard over the next two years to help reduce an estimated 120,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions generated by AFL House, the NAB Cup, and the Toyota AFL Premiership Season and Final Series matches.
Which AFL clubs are participating in Green for Footy?
We’re encouraged and proud that many clubs have joined with us and the AFL to help make a difference to our environment. We’re excited to be working with the following clubs- Bulldogs, Cats, Carlton, Crows, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Collingwood, Melbourne, Richmond and St Kilda.
My club is not participating. Can I still go Green for Footy?
Yes. You can still join Green for Footy to reduce your home’s greenhouse gas emissions, even if your favourite club is not participating. In this case we’ll contribute $27.50 (incl. GST) directly to the AFL on your behalf to help them be the first sporting league in the world to report zero greenhouse gas emissions.
