Usage and service calculation
Shows a detailed breakdown of energy usage and charges for electricity. Discounts and rebates
All applicable discounts, rebate and Government concession are listed here. The Consumption Discount description and % are now displayed. Solar Contribution
This new section on your bill displays detailed information about your solar contribution including meter number, solar generation, number of bill days, feed-intariff rate, and the total solar contribution credit amount.
How is your solar contribution calculated?
Your solar contribution is calculated by multiplying the feed-in-tariff rate (c/kWh) by the excess solar generation (kWh) that is fed into the electricity grid from your net metered solar system. Your solar contribution is then shown as a credit (CR) on your bill.
Important
Please note your solar contribution does not show how much your solar system has generated and consumed within your home. However your electricity usage (kWh) will be lower from having generated and used this electricity.
How is GST calculated in this section of the bill?
The Solar Contribution amount does not include GST as it is not a taxable supply made by Origin. This is because payments received from electricity retailers for excess electricity generated from solar systems are not considered assessable income by the Australian Tax Office. Customers are however advised to seek their own independent financial advice regarding GST. How to pay your account
Lists all the ways you can pay your bill. This is a detachable payment slip to use when posting your payment to us or paying at Australia Post. Contact us
