1 Million Women

Origin is proud to be a green energy partner of 1 Million Women, a campaign designed to inspire and educate 1 Million Australian women to take practical action on climate change by collectively reducing 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2012.

Every woman who takes part in the 1 Million Women campaign has a personal goal to cut 1 tonne of CO2 from their daily lives within a year of joining the campaign.

Women can join in online and track their progress, learn about CO2 cutting activities that cover the household, food, cars and getting around, flights, shopping and renewable energy, and swap advice on other ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

The target of reducing 1 million tonnes of CO2 emissions is a challenging one, but if we unite - daughters, mothers, sisters and grandmothers – we can work towards the goal and help make a brighter future for all Australians.
