Origin has completed the acquisition of the retail businesses of Integral Energy and Country Energy from the NSW State-owned energy network businesses.*

Origin has also entered into binding GenTrader arrangements with Eraring Energy. The transaction was finalised on 1 March 2011.

We are delighted to welcome Integral Energy and Country Energy customers to Origin. If you are already an Origin customer we would like to thank you for your continued support.

Origin is proudly Australian and is the country's largest energy retailer with 4.6 million customer accounts.

Information for customers

There will be no immediate change to the way customers are served. If you were an Integral Energy or Country Energy customer, or are an existing Origin customer – you don't need to do anything.

We are currently working to ensure a seamless transition. One thing you may soon notice is the addition of an Origin logo on your energy bill or communications from your energy retailer.

Origin is committed to keeping customers up to date with any changes.

If you do have any questions, you can contact Origin on 13 24 61. You can also continue to use the existing number you have used to contact your energy retailer.


* The acquisition of the retail businesses of Integral Energy and Country Energy includes customer and supplier contracts, working capital and intellectual property including the retail brands. The transaction does not include the acquisition of retail legal entities or employees.
