BusinessChoice Energy Plan terms & conditions

This BusinessChoice Energy Plan is available only for a business supply address. To be eligible for this BusinessChoice Energy Plan you will need to:

  1. enter into a new agreement with us in the name of a business for the supply of electricity to a supply address with a business meter type; and
  2. as part of your new agreement, enter into and continue to buy electricity from us on the BusinessChoice Energy Plan for the Energy Plan period (see below).

The BusinessChoice Energy Plan is not available in conjunction with any of our other market offers. This offer is subject to the availability of this Energy Plan at your supply address, having regard to factors such as your meter type, supply area and applicable network tariff. We will use reasonable endeavours to verify your eligibility for this Energy Plan based on the relevant factors prior to issuing your first bill.

We reserve the right not to offer this Energy Plan to any of our customers on existing market agreements. This Energy Plan cannot be transferred to another supply address. If you move from the supply address your agreement with us, including this Energy Plan, and any Green Product agreement with us, will automatically end from the date that you move.

The BusinessChoice Energy Plan is for a period of 12 months if you are buying electricity only from us, from the date that energy supply under this Energy Plan with us commences ("Energy Plan period").

You are required to pay charges under your agreement for the supply of energy and other services. The charges you will pay for the supply of energy during the Energy Plan period will be all components of the Standard Published Ratesˆ for business customers applicable to your supply area and meter type, except that you will receive a 5% discount on the service to property and energy rate components forming part of the relevant Standard Published Ratesˆ for business customers for electricity. The discount does not apply to any additional Green charges (if applicable) as part of this agreement. You must also pay any other amounts set out in the other fees & charges section below, your agreement schedule or your agreement terms with us.

The charges set out in the agreement schedule and the amounts set out in your bills are inclusive of the discount which you receive as part of this BusinessChoice Energy Plan.

We may vary the charges (other than the charges for the supply of energy during the Energy Plan period) at any time in accordance with the agreement terms. We may only vary the charges payable by you for the supply of energy during the Energy Plan period by notice to you to:

  1. reflect any change to the Standard Published Rates for electricity during the Energy Plan period; and
  2. recover from you any varied or new fee, charge or tax effected by the Government or a regulator during the Energy Plan period, or any direct or indirect increase in our costs of supplying energy to you as a result of the introduction of the Carbon pollution Reduction Scheme, which directly or indirectly relates to the supply of electricity during the Energy Plan period. Your percentage discount will continue, but will apply to the new Standard Published Rates for business customers from the time of the change.

Your agreement with us continues after the expiry of the Energy Plan period if you are still at the supply address.

However, different charges may apply from the expiry of the Energy Plan period. We will advise you of any changes to charges that will apply to your energy supply under your agreement with us after the expiry of the Energy Plan period.

ˆ The Standard Published Rates are the prices that you would be required to pay if you were supplied under a standard form customer supply contract (in NSW), a standing contract (in SA), a standing offer with Origin (in Victoria) or a standard retail contract with Origin (in Queensland) at your supply address. These prices are published in accordance with regulatory requirements by the relevant retailer. If the relevant retailer is Origin, these prices can be found on our website at originenergy.com.au

To remain on this Energy Plan you must continue to satisfy the eligibility and offer availability criteria outlined above.

We may notify you if you no longer satisfy any of these criteria and the Energy Plan will end from the date set out in our notice to you. If your Energy Plan ends in these circumstances, we will continue to supply you with energy under your agreement and we will advise you of any changes to your charges. We may also notify you of your eligibility for other Energy Plans with us.

We reserve the right to withdraw the offer of this Energy Plan at our complete discretion at any time prior to a customer entering into an agreement with us which includes this Energy Plan.

Other Fees and charges

Early Termination Fee
If you end this Energy Plan after any applicable cooling off period following commencement of our agreement but before the end of the Energy Plan period, we may charge you an early termination fee of $110.00 (inc. GST) per fuel. This amount may be varied in accordance with the agreement terms.

However, if you end your agreement, including this Energy Plan, before the end of the Energy Plan period because you are moving out of your current supply address, we may waive the early termination fee applicable for a fuel if you enter into a new agreement to buy that fuel from us at your new supply address.

Credit card service fee
An additional fee may apply if you choose to pay by credit card. Please see payment options section of your bill for further details.

Account establishment fee
An account establishment fee may apply per fuel if you transfer to us from another retailer or if you are signing up to take a fuel for the first time. If you are required to pay such a fee, that obligation and the amount of the fee will be set out in your agreement schedule or will be advised to you in writing prior to the time you become liable for the fee.

Late payment fee
For supply addresses located in NSW, SA and Queensland a late payment fee of $8.80 (GST inclusive) per fuel may apply for each bill paid after the due date. This amount may be varied in accordance with the agreement terms.
