Energetic artists

Beaconhills College, Pakenham VIC – Year 6

We learnt ways to save energy, how we could reduce our carbon footprint and stay safe around gas and electricity.

To learn about energy efficiency and safety, we:

• participated in Origin’s Energy Safety Week 2009 in August
• discovered how much energy we’re using with Origin’s energy efficiency calculator
• researched ways we could use less energy and reduce our carbon footprint
• constructed art pieces from rubbish with special environmental messages.

We’re encouraging others to use energy wisely, by:

• displaying artworks at our school’s art exhibition for other students and our families to see
• putting energy safety tips in daily bulletins with a trivia quiz and prizes.
