Lessons to be learned

Our Lady Help of Christians, Murtoa VIC - Years 4 to 6

After learning about climate change, energy and renewable energy in the classroom, we wanted to find creative ways to share our efficiency tips with the community.

Our school’s theme for the year is ‘It’s time to care… because who will care if we don’t?’

To learn about energy efficiency, we:

• created an energy efficiency PowerPoint presentation called 'Lessons to be learned’
• used puppets to act out energy wise behaviour
• started a campaign to reduce energy use at school.

We’re encouraging others to use energy efficiently, by:

• designing and handing out bumper stickers promoting energy efficiency messages to the local community
• showing our family members how to be energy efficient in their homes
• putting up ‘Last out, lights out’ posters around the school to remind everyone to switch off lights.
