Energy Safety Week in Shepparton

Shepparton English Language Centre, Shepparton VIC – Prep to Year 6

Teachers from the Shepparton English Language Centre who are based at four local schools worked with students who are new to Australia.

We used activities from Origin’s Energy Safety Week program during English language lessons to learn about gas and electrical safety.

To learn about energy safety, we:

• discussed important gas and electrical safety tips
• held cooking classes to practice our energy safe behaviour.

We’re encouraging others to use energy safely, by:

• creating energy safety posters and displaying them around the school
• sharing our ‘Energy Safety Week 2009’ presentation with students at the centre, students from other local schools and our families.
