The bright light project
The Gap State School, The Gap QLD – Year 7
We’ve formed a group called the Bright light project. We’re dedicated to reducing our school’s energy consumption and encouraging others to save energy.
To learn about energy efficiency, we:
- carried out whole-school energy checks, noting which classes were using energy wisely.
We’re encouraging others to use energy efficiently, by:
- creating and displaying posters in every classroom to remind teachers and students to turn off lights and powerpoints at the switch when they leave
- rewarding energy wise classes with certificates and treats
- leaving gentle reminders to classes who have forgotten to turn off their electrical appliances.
