Dynamic Saver explained

When you choose our Smart Rates Adelaide Solar City Energy Plan*, you can take your pick from our Smart Electricity pricing plans – Dynamic Saver and Smart Time of Use.

Dynamic Saver

You’ll pay a cheaper rate for electricity all year round, except during 2pm-8pm on 10 critical peak days per year. The critical peak days will be advised in advance. On these peak days the electricity rate is higher however overall on this tariff the potential savings could be greater.

Choose from two different options, dependent on your anticipated level of usage during peak days.

Dynamic Saver - Option 1

Usage Rate (inc.GST)
Cheaper All Year Round 18.00(c/kWh)
Critical Peak Day* $2.4562 ($/kWh)
Supply Charge 44.70 (c/day)

Dynamic Saver - Option 2

Usage Rate (inc.GST)
Cheaper All Year Round 20.62 (c/kWh)
Critical Peak Day+ 1.1285 ($/kWh)
Supply Charge 44.70 (c/day)

Both Dynamic Saver options are designed to reduce energy consumption on days when there is a very high load on electricity generators, such as on extremely hot days. We’ll give you 24 hours notice of a critical peak day via your choice of SMS, email or a phone call to help you avoid any non-essential electricity use.

  • * Terms and conditions and eligibility and availability criteria apply and will be explained by an Origin representative at the time of your enquiry. Depending on configuration of your wiring and setup of Smart Meter, energy usage displayed may only be from the power grid to your home, and surplus solar generated power exported from your home. Total solar electricity generated and total household usage may not be available. The in-home electricity usage display is not compatible with certain metering configurations, such as homes with solar PV installations and/or 3-Phase meters. Customers with these configurations are not eligible to receive the in-home electricity usage display. This offer is not available in all areas, to sites in Mawson Lakes, or to customers who are or have been participating in the Adelaide Solar City Project. Offer can be changed or withdrawn without notice. ^ Your home assessment must be completed within 8 weeks of the first call made to arrange an appointment.
