Victorian Feed-In Tariff information
The agreement available to customers for net feed in energy is dependant on several conditions including but not limited to the amount of energy consumed at the premise and the capacity size of the system installed.
Premium Feed-In Tariff (FIT) agreements
On Novemeber 1 2009 the Victorian Government introduced a premium Feed-In agreement. The premium Feed-In agreement is available to customers who meet the following conditions:
- Energy sent to the Grid is generated by Solar PV system and is not greater than 5kW.
- If the cutomer is residential, the Solar PV system is located at the principle place of residence.
- The annual consumption at the property (whether you are a business or residential customer) is less than 100,000kWh per annum.
The premium FIT rate paid is 60c/kWh for energy exported to the grid. Origin may also contrbute an additional amount to the premium FIT. Customers who believe that they fit the above criteria and wish to partake in this scheme should consider the full premium FIT agreement (89KB) and return a signed agreement.
The premium FIT can only be applied to a customers account once a signed agreement has been received and the Distribution Network has updated the details Network Tariff for the property.
Standard Feed-In Tariff agreements
Depending on the size of renewable generation and the purpose for which the renewable electricity is being generated, Origin will offer to purchase small renewable energy generation electricity at these prices. These are referred to in the Feed-In agreement as the ‘Export energy charge’ and at prices that are each referred to as the ‘Export tariff’.
The Standard Feed-In agreement (125KB) explains which Export tariff applies to a particular relevant sized generators for Commercial Generation, Large Non-Commercial Business Generation and Small Generation who consume less than 160MW per annum.
Tariffs offered in connection with the Feed-In agreement are:
- Export tariff one: 11.5 cents per kWh (inclusive of GST);
- Export tariff two: 6 cents per kWh (inclusive of GST);
- Export tariff three: this export tariff varies depending on the network area in which a relevant generator is located and the time
of day during which the small renewable energy generation electricity is generated:
