You may incur additional charges in some circumstances. These vary between states so please check those that are relevant to you.

    Card payment fee

    A 0.6% fee (inc GST) may apply to electricity and natural gas bill payments made by Visa and MasterCard.

    Connection fee

    For your electricity account a fee of $61.75 will apply if your site is de-energised and requires a turn-on service order. A fee of $39.11 will apply if you are moving premises and a special meter read service order is required.

    For your natural gas account a fee of $58.99 will apply if you are moving premises and a special meter read service order is required.

    Disconnection fee

    If your property is disconnected (e.g. when you move out of your property) a disconnection fee may apply.

    The amount of the disconnection fee is the amount your distributor charges us. For your electricity account the fee is currently $54.55. For your gas account a fee of $58.99 will apply if you are moving premises and a special meter read service order is required. These fees may change from time to time.

    Request for historical billing information

    We will provide you, upon request, copies of, or information about, previous bill issued by Origin to you, within a reasonable time of receiving the request. We will provide copies free of charge, but may charge you the reasonable costs of obtaining and supplying copies of the bill.

    Other charges

    If a government, regulator or network distributor varies or introduces a fee, charge or tax, we may pass through all or part of this varied or new fee, charge or tax to you. The charges for network-related services may include our reasonable costs for arranging such services.

  • New South Wales

    A 0.6% fee (inc GST) may apply to electricity and natural gas bill payments made by Visa and MasterCard.

    Late payment fees

    If your supply address is in New South Wales, a late payment fee will not apply if:

    • For electricity contracts, the account holder receives the Low Income Household Rebate or the Medical Energy Rebate;
    • If the bill that was not paid by the due date, or another bill under your contract, is the subject of a matter being considered by the energy ombudsman;
    • If the bill is subject to an arrangement to pay by installments under a payment plan;
    • If any part of the bill is paid by a voucher issued under the Energy Accounts Payment Assistance Scheme; or
    • If we are aware that you have sought assistance to pay the bill from a participating community welfare organisation that issues vouchers under the Energy Accounts Payment Assistance Scheme.

    Disconnection/Reconnection fee

    If your property is disconnected (e.g. when you move out of your property) a disconnection fee may apply.

    The amount of the disconnection fee is the amount your distributor charges us. For your electricity account the fee is currently $49.61 (for Ausgrid) or $49.50 (for Endeavour Energy) or $49.61 (for Essential Energy). For your gas account, the fee is currently $44.00 (for Jemena) or $12.32 (for Envestra Albury) or $12.32 (for Envestra Murray Valley NSW) or $50.74 (for Envestra NSW) or $47.19 (for Central Ranges Tamworth). These fees may change from time to time.

    Security deposit may be charged Residential customers are not currently charged a security deposit, but the energy codes do allow Retailers to ask customers for a security deposit in instances where there is bad credit or a credit risk.

    Dishonoured payment Where your direct debit or cheque payment is not honoured or reversed by your financial institution, we may pass on any bank fees that may apply.

    Card payment fee

    A 0.6% fee (inc GST) may apply to electricity and natural gas bill payments made by Visa and MasterCard.

    Collector call fee

    If we need to collect a late payment which includes a visit to the property by a field officer, we may charge you a collector call fee of $30.00.

    Disconnection fee

    The disconnection fee does not apply for electricity customers.

    However, for gas accounts, if your property is disconnected (e.g. when you move out of your property) a disconnection fee will apply. The amount of the disconnection fee is the amount your distributor charges us. The disconnection fee is currently $11.00 (for customers serviced by Envestra) or $22.35 (for customers serviced by APT Allgas) and may change from time to time.

    The amount of the disconnection fee is the amount your distributor charges us. For your electricity account, the fee is currently $36.30. For your gas account, the fee is currently $10.78. These fees may change from time to time.

For your electricity account, the fee is currently $26.81 (for customers serviced by Citipower), $39.59 (for customers serviced by Powercor), $17.94 (for customers serviced by AusNet Services), $15.38 (for customers serviced by Jemena AGL) and $43.80 (for customers serviced by United Energy).

    Card payment fee

    A 0.6% fee (inc GST) may apply to electricity and natural gas bill payments made by Visa and MasterCard.

    Disconnection fee

    If your property is disconnected (e.g. when you move out of your property) a disconnection fee will apply.

    The amount of the disconnection fee is the amount your distributor charges us. For your electricity account, the fee is currently $27.16 (for customers serviced by Citipower), $41.90 (for customers serviced by Powercor), $17.94 (for customers serviced by AusNet Services), $26.28 (for customers serviced by Jemena AGL) and $43.80 (for customers serviced by United Energy).

    For your gas account, the fee is currently $6.72 (for customers serviced by Multinet), $9.24 or $12.43 for metro and non-metro locations respectively (for customers serviced by Envestra) and $9.24 (for customers serviced by AusNet Services. These fees may change from time to time.
