Year 8 students discovered they could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15.6 tonnes each year when they fitted timers to the school urns.

Vermont Secondary College (VIC)

Year 8 students spread the word on sustainable living. Students formed a group called AA or ‘Attitude Adjustment’ to take their energy saving ideas to the school community and beyond.

Hamilton Secondary College (SA)

Students encouraged others to save energy and the planet with posters, brochures and a hip-hop song – complete with beatbox solo! This verse talks about global warming.

Year 7 researched energy use at home and came up with some saving tips for the kitchen.

Millicent High School (SA)

Year 8 students became experts on energy efficiency and achieved huge savings at school. Students promoted their energy saving ideas through posters, a comic strip, a quiz show and display at the public library.

Eudunda Area School (SA)

Year 9 students switched on to energy efficiency in almost every subject. Students researched energy use and then went on to design and build model homes each with more than 30 energy saving features.

Year 6 students put energy efficiency on show, creating a display for shoppers at Kmart and treating the school to a special play based on the ‘Three Little Pigs’ with modifications to suit an energy efficient housing theme.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College (SA)

The science club impressed passers-by when they took their energy efficient model house to the local shopping centre. They also visited the local primary school to play an energy efficient game with the help of their mascot ‘Larry the Lightbulb’.
