The Energy Safety Week toolkit is a set of innovative activities on gas and electrical safety.
The toolkit teaches students how energy works and how to keep safe while using energy (gas and electricity) in the kitchen. It also provides information about keeping safe with LPG.
The resource is available to all pre-primary and primary schools in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
Toolkits include:
- a comprehensive teacher's resource
- classroom activities for all primary levels and pre-primary
- stickers
- a poster
- strong curriculum connections
- additional online support materials and worksheets.
Based on teacher feedback, the 2009 toolkit has been modified to provide a specific section for pre-primary students.

When do you use the toolkit?
During Energy Safety Week you can get involved by using activities from the toolkit. However, activities could run before or after the week - it's flexible and can be adapted to suit your school.
