Spring Gully Coal Seam Gas development
Spring Gully in central Queensland is a large, world-class accumulation of coal seam gas (CSG). Origin plans an extensive development program of its Spring gully assets over the next few years in order to capture the growth potential in the Queensland market.
Stage 1 of the Spring Gully CSG development project includes the drilling and completion of approximately 50 coal seam gas wells and the installation of associated surface infrastructure including 150 km of water and gas gathering lines, the construction of a 36 TJ/day gas processing plant and the supply of water storage facilities. The first stage of the project was completed in June 2005. Up to 400 CSG wells are expected to be drilled in the area over the next 20 years.
The expansion of Spring Gully includes:- 30 new wells
- A new gas plant at Strathblane
- Expansion of the existing Spring Gully plant
